Preparing for your first solo live, how do you feel now?

Takuya: I’m already nervous about our first solo live….I really want to hurry and do it soon, but I’m also nervous if it will go smoothly. However, lives have their own appeal. 

Yongseok: I feel really good about it. When I think about being able to meet the fans on stage, I get very excited! 

Sangmin: I think all of the members feel the same. We’re nervous, but it would be nice if we could perform Cross Gene’s music at the live even one day sooner. 

Casper: Because we are doing our best to prepare, it would be nice if we could do a good performance. I want to hurry and meet the fans on stage. 

Seyoung: I’m also nervous, but to be able to introduce our music to fans in the same room makes me happy. 

Shin: There are plans to announce our new song at the live. I’m nervous showing the fans our different genre of music, but I’m also anticipating it a lot. 

Are you more excited than nervous?

Everyone: Yes!

You also had your first showcase in Japan at Shibuya O-East, but how is it to go there for your first solo live?

Takuya: It’s a very good feeling, like returning home.

In a live house you are very close to the guests, aren’t you.

Yongseok: Being able to perform at a close distance is a good thing, I think.

Sangmin: I feel the same. I think it would be nice if we could have a close feeling like friends. 

What are the good points of your first live? 

Takuya: There are a lot of plans for songs that haven’t been introduced before. Because we’re showing new songs and performances, we’ll be very happy if people come.

Are there solo stages?

Takuya: You can enjoy that if you come! We might do songs we created ourselves, interesting talks….what we’re doing is still a secret!

We just heard from Takuya about talks, but talks are also important at lives. Is there a member whose specialty is talks?

Takuya: A member whose specialty is talks!?

Shin: In Japan it’s Takuya

Casper: Takuya!

Takuya: I’m bad at talks.

Yongseok: Takuya is our Japan representative!

If it’s not in Japan who is it?

Shin: As expected, it’s Takuya.

Takuya: Yongseok, Yongseok! He’s even MC’ed before!

Casper: In Japan it’s Takuya, in Korea it’s Yongseok.

In your first live what part of yourself do you want to present?

Takuya: Our natural performance and singing. To the people who come to our stage it would be nice if we could create a sense of unity, I think.

How about Shin?

Shin: More than anything, the music. If they can experience our music firsthand, right in front of their eyes, it would be nice.

Recently there seem to be a lot of people hesitant about whether or not to come to Cross Gene’s live for the first time. Please make an appeal to these people.

Takuya: Each of our personalities are strong. Right now there are a lot of opportunities for people to know of us from magazines or the web, but if you come to the live performance in person, it’s not just in writing, but you can feel our feelings in person. Because our individual personalities come out during lives, I think you can get to know us much more.

What kind of personalities the six of you have, please explain about each other.

Shin: Takuya is quiet. (The word used here comes from ‘adult,’ and can mean quiet, or obedient, or docile. Basically he’s laid back and mature.)

Takuya: Casper really thinks of the team. It can be felt much more than before. 

Yongseok: Seyoung’s figure when playing the piano is fascinating. 

Seyoung: Shin works very hard to do his best every day, but especially during his vocal practice he does his best until the very end; that part of him is truly fascinating, I think. 

Shin: Thank you (laugh).

Casper: Sangmin is the mood maker of the team. When the mood is low, listening to Sangmin’s voice makes it fun. Also he’s always the best in the team at games. He’s strong at competitions.

Sangmin: I think Yongseok has grown. When he talks he has dignity; it’s that kind of thing. 

What kind of song is “Crazy,” which will be released May 29th?

Yongseok: Just like the title, it’s a crazy song (laugh).

Takuya: It’s a song where it’s not just the title “Crazy” that has a strong impact. The tempo is fast, so when it’s played at lives the guests can get excited. The choreography isn’t ready yet, but please anticipate it! 

Has your environment changed before and after debut? 

Takuya: Today, there were voices saying “isn’t that Cross Gene?” in Asakusa (laugh).

Sangmin: That’s right. We were asked by Japanese students “are you Cross Gene?” 

Takuya: Before debut if we went to the same place, because no one knew us we could play freely, but having that kind of reaction today makes us extremely happy. 

From now on what kind of activities do you want to do?

Takuya: Of course we want to do a lot of lives. I would like it if people see our live performances firsthand and come to like us more and more. 

Shin: We Cross Gene have to grow more and more, we’ll continue to try our best!

Do you have things you want to challenge individually?

Sangmin: Skydiving!

Everyone: Oooh!

Yongseok: To circle world is my dream.

Seyoung: For me it’s also skydiving.

Why skydiving?

Sangmin: I once had a dream where I jumped down from space. Because it was a very fun feeling to fly in the sky, I think I want to try it.

Really, space?

Sangmin: I jumped from the very edge between space and the atmosphere (laugh).

Seyoung: I didn’t see anything like a dream; I just want to fly (laugh).

What about Casper?

Casper: I want to try recording a movie or CM. 

Shin: For me it’s scuba diving. Not sky, scuba (laugh)!

Everyone: hahaha

Takuya: Everyone in Cross Gene likes being active. That’s why we want to do tv shows with sports. Somehow, it’s become like skydiving, though…(laugh). Because I also like sports, it’d be good if we could do something like “Cross Gene vs ….”

Takuya: On May 31st we have our first solo live “~Cross U~” at Shibuya O-east. This time there are plans to show lots of new songs, so if a lot of people could see them we would be happy. Please come!

What are enthusiastic about for your debut in Japan?

Takuya (130325): For our debut in Japan, our goal is a first place prize; we want to me the best in Japan, so we’ll work hard. 

Shin (130326): It’s a good chance for our team, so I want to work hard and do my best. 

Sangmin (130327): I want to debut in Japan and capture the fans’ hearts with my eye smile. 

Yongseok (130401): I want to debut and show the fans results for our efforts, and I also want to show the fans an amazing performance on stage so that we can receive everyone’s support and admiration.

What are you best at within Cross Gene?

Shin (130409): There honestly isn’t anything I’m the best at. Because I’m not the type to think I’m good at anything, I just do my best. 

Sangmin (130410): I’m in charge of dance within the group; for example when we’re learning the dances I corrects where the members make mistakes. I thinks I’m the best at dancing and rapping. 

Takuya (130408): I’m the most competitive. For example, I don’t like losing games. 

Yongseok (130415): I’m the youngest in Cross Gene; I also have the most ‘sense.’ The sense I means is that even when I’m nervous I can be bright, that kind of sense. (I’m not sure about this)

Takuya (130422): I think a girl with a nice smile is good.
